The Instrumentation of Metal ‘N’ Light

Defined by the ubiquitous influence on music, the Grovenor House residence lends itself to the sophistication of RS3 Designs résumé.  From the tonal sensibilities of metallic slates, bronze, coppers, and brass’s, to art inspired wall pieces, the glissando of light interacts with the elements creating a progression of interior fluidity.

Shannon Scott adds, “The design preferences on this project were all product driven to comprise technical ingenuity that would give the interiors a fusion of style that meets a classy edge, keeping in tune with the client’s individuality and lifestyle. Raymond and I collaborated with masters of their crafts and brought in bold, masculine statements. We wanted to create something special, giving understated hints of how the interiors would communicate different dimensions of observation throughout the space.”



“One of the most profound and unique components is in the ceiling design with German-based recessed lighting from Eden,” shares Raymond. The directional light fixtures glow a spotlight on the guitars.IMAGE 3

LED strip lighting intermingles with the copper beams and slate floors as it becomes a rhythmical body of expression.

Electromagnetic track lighting is angled over the library and cornerstones the materiality of rustic monotones, the metal chair, and copper end table.


Shannon converses, “The collaborative alliance of working with ITAI BAR-ON  in this space was inspiring to us. They created an innovative language of how light instills movement inside concrete. The wall took on a distinct finish, and the results are impactful.”
